Los Angeles employer seeks motivated, hardworking individual to fill position in basic biology setting.

Job Title: Assistant Animal Care Technician

Duties: Assist in the provision of care to a variety of animals in a biology setting. Emphasis is placed on health and welfare of the animals.

Requirements: High school diploma is essential. Written and oral English communication skills at the high school graduation level. Experience working with animals and or training in animal husbandry/veterinary technology preferred. Rodent handling, health monitoring and animal research equipment familiarity a plus. Documented course work in the basic sciences (especially biology) preferred. Weekend and holiday work is required.

Skills and Abilities: Ability to lift 50 pounds; frequent bending, reaching, lifting and pushing. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.

Hours and Benefits: Full time, 40 hours per week, Temporary 6 month assignment. May lead to permanent position. Generous benefit package.

Salary: 14.50 per hour
