The list below details a partial list of what can't be posted on Los Angeles Ads.
We reserves the right to remove an ad at our discretion, and to alter this list at any time.
- Ads offering or looking for human adoption
- Ads that are adult in nature [including, but not limited to: adult services, adult job postings, dating websites and personal ads]
- Airline tickets and other tickets of any kind which you are not authorized to sell
- Alcoholic Beverages
- Sale of animals/pets
- Blood, Bodily Fluids and Body Parts
- Service offers to unlock or jailbreak phones that violate the recent change in US laws
- Coupons or gift which you are not authorized to sell
- Electronic Surveillance Equipment designed or used primarily to illegally intercept/record the private actions or interactions of others without their knowledge or permission
- Endangered or protected species, or any part of any endangered or protected species [including bone/ivory, taxidermy, shell, pelts, etc]
- Expired food/products [expiration date must be clearly stated]
- Fireworks and Explosives
- Government Uniforms, IDs, Documents and Licenses
- Hazardous Materials [radioactive, toxic and explosive materials]
- Identity Documents, Personal Financial Records & Personal Information
- Illegal Drugs, substances and items used to manufacture controlled substances and drugs
- Illegal Services
- Illegal telecommunication and electronics equipment such as access cards, password swiffers, jamming device, traffic signal control devices, or any device prohibited by the FCC
- Items marketed inappropriately with an intolerant regard toward religion, sexual orientation, race, or ethnic background
- Liquor Licenses
- Lottery Tickets
- Material that infringes copyright, including but not limited to software or other digital goods which you are not authorized to sell
- Prescription Drugs
- Plants and insects that are restricted or regulated
- Prostitution or ads that offer sex, sexual favors or sexual actions in exchange for anything
- Stolen Property
- Used cosmetics or toiletries [items must be sealed]
- Weapons and related items [including, but not limited to firearms, magazines and all parts, ammunition, BB and pellet guns, tear gas, tasers, airsoft guns and martial arts weapons]

Safety Tips
- Beware offers involving shipping; always deal with locals you can meet in person.
- Tell a friend or family member where you are going or take them along with you.
- Do not extend payment to anyone you have not met in person.
- Avoid carrying more cash on you than required.
- Do not pay using Western Union or other similar untraceable payment options.
- Never give out your financial info [credit card, social security, paypal account, etc].
- Do not rent or purchase sight unseen, that amazing 'deal' may not exist.
- Be especially careful buying or selling high value items.
- Trust your instincts. If something does not seem quite right, something is probably amiss.

Report an Ad
Flagging an ad brings the ad to the attention of our support team. They investigate the ad and remove ads which violate our posting policies.
To flag an ad, click the "Report" icon on the ad page. The member who is reported will not know who reported them. Using this link is the fastest way of alerting our support team about bad ads. Also you can report the ad through our contact form and explain your situation. Be sure to include the reference ID which is located on the top-right section of every post.
Your report will be kept confidential.

Tips for Seller Success
Want to get more responses to your ad? Make sure to try these steps:
- Include one or more pictures in your ad. You can post up to twenty images with your ad.
- Make sure that your pictures are clean and focused on the item you're offering.
- Make the title and description as detailed as possible. If you're selling a product include its brand, model number, condition, and features.
- If you're flexible on price, let people know that the price is 'Negotiable'.
- Make it easy for the buyer to pick up the item; let them know where the item is located.
